Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

1. Critically appraise general methods of investigation in psychological research and justify ethical decisions using established research ethics frameworks
2. Integrate and critically evaluate foundational theories in learning, memory, cognition, developmental and social psychology, intelligence and other individual differences
3. Systematically locate, evaluate, and synthesise evidence from diverse scholarly sources to select appropriate solutions for complex psychological problems.
4. Communicate in a logical and clear manner the results of investigating a topic or problems relating to psychology
5. Apply relevant psychological theories, methods, and empirical findings to critically interpret and explain everyday experiences and behaviours
6. Analyse the historical evolution of psychology, critically appraise contributions of significant figures, events, and ideas, and evaluate their influence on contemporary theory and practice
